is a joint venture between BroadSoft and Vonair that focuses on
helping carriers simplify client management and client service deployment
in network-based environments.

Client Management Systems
Traditional
voice services have become commoditized. To be competitive, service
providers must lower the cost of their operations, while simultaneously
increasing the value of the services they offer to the end user.
Moving to a single converged service network, carriers can reduce
network operational expenses, while at the same time enabling the
deployment of higher value services. A key component of delivering
new value to the end user is the client, both physical phones and
PC-based softphones. Unlike a traditional POTS phone, these new
multi-function clients couple voice, video, and data services into
a single user-friendly terminal. New client capabilities enable
new products and services, which in turn provide new revenue streams
for the operator.
However,
there are hidden costs to deploying this new network, and they are
found in the end users' clients. The clients can be more difficult
to activate and install, which leads to higher customer acquisition
costs. After deployment, the clients may need to be upgraded, which
leads to higher maintenance costs. Without the proper infrastructure,
troubleshooting and support can also be very time-consuming and
expensive. To minimize these costs, service providers must have
a solid client management plan in place before they roll out their
service.
Netria
develops client management solutions for IP-based service providers.
The Netria Client Management System (CMS) simplifies the management
of end-user terminals, such as IP phones, PDAs, mobile clients,
gateways and softphones. The Netria CMS provides:
- Automated
Provisioning and Activation: reducing the cost of both acquisition
of the customer and initial deployment of the client
- Integrated
Service Configuration: reducing the maintenance cost of moves,
adds and changes
- Software
Management: reducing the cost of maintaining and supporting client
upgrades and fixes
- Monitoring
and Reporting: reducing the cost of troubleshooting customer calls,
while at the same time simplifying the tracking of service level
agreements
In
an IP Multimedia Services (IMS) network, end-user services may be
hosted on one or more application servers in the IMS core. This
hosting is transparent to the user, however. To the user, the
client is the service. The Netria CMS is designed to provide
seamless delivery of multiple services from different network-based
application platforms through a single end-user client.
The
Netria CMS works with leading service delivery platforms in the
industry such as BroadSoft's BroadWorks VoIP application platform.
With a rich set of APIs, the CMS can be easily integrated with other
application platforms.
With
the Netria CMS, the service provider can completely control the
clients deployed in the network. Once in control, the service provider
can then leverage the CMS to enable differentiated data applications.
By reducing costs and increasing value ultimately the CMS improves
the operator's bottom line - profitability.
